Trove Arts presents:
TWISTED & TORTURED
An evening of tales and art history from the macabre.
TWISTED & TORTURED
is an immersive adventure through art history, a handful of historical fiction, a few ounces of decadent themed elixirs, and a dash of a fun art lesson.
This “Halloween show for grown-ups” is hosted in the Trove Arts ART PARLOUR – a redesigned lower bungalow flat in Wauwatosa created to immerse intimate audiences deep into art-history themed experiences with 10 channel surround-sound, theatrical lighting, custom video, and a variety of special effects!
The ART PARLOUR evolves for each experience presented, and for TWISTED & TORTURED the space will be delightfully dark and ghoulishly Gothic.
Is that a storm rumbling off in the distance?
Something scurry underfoot?
The shadowy raven above the door beckons you to find your seat...
Your journey is about to begin!
TWISTED & TORTURED Is approximately 2 hours and includes:
Exciting, multi-media storytelling.
Tasty themed libation breaks.
Fun art lesson and supplies.
$5 to towards future ticket purchases or original Trove Art gallery items.
$35 (NO additional fees, taxes, or ticket service costs)

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT KIND OF SHOW IS THIS?
TWISTED & TORTURED is part One-person-SHOW, part ART HISTORY LESSON, part HANDS - ON ART LESSON and an EXPERIENCE we guarantee you'll talk about for some time!
SO... IT'S NOT AN ART CLASS?
You WILL be painting. But... You'll probably not be leaving with a finished knock-off of Van Gogh's “Starry Night” or a barn board sign about “Living, Laughing, or Loving.”
You will, however, experience a rich, immersive evening of fun art history and professional guidance through some hands-on techniques in a unique venue that is purpose-built for this type of intimate, and exclusive event.
This particular show (TWISTED & TORTURED) is definitely more "fun show with libations" than "in depth art lesson."
WILL I BRING A PAINTING HOME?
You may or may not be leaving with a finished painting.
You will, however, be trying some art techniques discussed during the show and taking home a canvas with your work.
I REALLY LIKE BASIC PAINT-AND-SIP CLASSES. WILL I LIKE THIS?
I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS THAN PAINT-AND-SIP CLASSES. WILL I LIKE THIS?
We think “paint-and-sip” events can be a great deal of fun, and there are plenty of places that do that very well.
However, a fair complaint sometimes about “paint-and-sip classes” is that they are streamlined, and simplified box mix activities geared more towards boisterous, wine-fueled fun without much depth.
Again, nothing wrong with that.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are in-depth art classes for people who are focused solely on improving their craft. These lessons can and should be rather serious and not necessarily a great deal of “fun.”
TROVE ARTS SHOWS BRIDGE THE GAP between splash-and-dash paint-and-sip parties and deep-diving serious art lessons.
We have worked hard to create events that are absolutely fun and enjoyable for both the serious artist and someone just “looking for something unique new to do.”
